In December of last year, I had the opportunity to join a Habitat for Humanity Global Village volunteer trip to Guatemala. I spent the week with a team of volunteers from all over the US. Our time there was spent building a home, latrines, and smokeless stoves for local families. It was an amazing and life-affirming trip. I would recommend the experience to everyone.
Below is a slide deck I created to share my experience through words and photos. I found the country to be beautiful and culturally vibrant. It is a place I would certainly love to make a return visit to in the future.
The week was full of experiences that cause reflection and insight that I will share in a second post. For now, please enjoy learning about Guatemala and the important work that Habitat for Humanity is doing there.
