Get outside of your comfort zone.

I don’t remember the first time I got this advice.  But, I know that I’ve heard (and said) it hundreds of times.  Our comfort zone is where dreams fade and potential is lost.  Greatness lives on the other side of the border from our comfort zone.  Discomfort is the critical and inescapable reality of growth.

The thing that no one tells you about your comfort zone is that it grows.  The more often you step outside of your comfort zone, the bigger it gets.  The more experiences you have, the more times you are prone to feel comfortable.

Staying outside of your comfort zone requires proactive and relentless action.  But, if you can learn to make discomfort your default mode professionally, you are on your way to accomplishing great things.
